エゼキエル書 10章14節
ケルビムにはそれぞれ四つの顔があり、第一の顔はケルビムの顔、第二の顔は人間の顔、第三の顔は獅子の顔、そして第四の顔は鷲の顔であった。
初めての油彩画で、ケルビムを描いてみようと挑戦をしてみたもの。油彩での細かな描写がまだまだ難しく、なんだかよくわからない作品となったが、これはこれで良いのかもしれない。
“Each of the cherubim had four faces:
the first was the face of a cherub,
the second the face of a human,
the third the face of a lion,
and the fourth the face of an eagle.” — Ezekiel 10:14
This was my first attempt at painting a cherub using oil paints. I challenged myself to capture the mystery and majesty of this celestial being. The intricate details were difficult to render, and the result turned out rather ambiguous—but perhaps that’s part of its charm. Even if the image isn’t perfectly clear, it carries the spirit of exploration and reverence. And for a first oil painting, maybe that’s more than enough.
